Pakistan → South Korea
Study in South Korea from Pakistan: documents and D-2 visa
Pakistan → Korea: school credentials use IBCC; university credentials use HEC. For D-2, check bank-statement timing, sponsor evidence and the designated TB centre. Do not automatically reuse the D-2 checklist for D-4 language study.

Authentication follows the document’s issuing country. Citizenship and residence can differ: use the checklist of your consular jurisdiction. Your university and specific intake determine the exact required records, translations and submission format.
Documents: local preparation
- bachelor’s degree · D-4 language study
SSC/HSSC and marks sheets: issuing-board verification comes before IBCC attestation. Prepare originals, copies, payment receipt and student/father CNIC copies; for an integrated board, print the online verification.
- master’s degree · doctoral degree · D-4 language study
Bachelor’s/master’s and higher university credentials use HEC, not IBCC. Confirm HEC’s supporting-document list before submitting; the school-attestation route is not the university-degree route.
If the university requires apostille on a Pakistani credential, use MOFA after the applicable IBCC/HEC pre-attestation. MOFA lists South Korea as accepting apostilles. Apostille does not replace translation or the university’s own requirements.
- bachelor’s degree · D-4 language study
For O/A-levels or other foreign school qualifications, Pakistani citizenship alone does not determine document processing. IBCC attestation of foreign qualifications requires SSC/HSSC equivalence and a copy of the equivalence certificate.
D-2 student and D-4 language visas
- bachelor’s degree · master’s degree · doctoral degree
The embassy’s D-2 list asks for original/copy education records attested by HEC or the relevant board and an English certificate: IELTS/TOEFL iBT preferred; TOEIC not accepted. University language-score thresholds remain separate.
- bachelor’s degree · master’s degree · doctoral degree
D-2: verified statements for the last 6 months, covering Certificate of Admission costs, with funds held at least 1 month. Statements issued more than 2 weeks before application are not accepted. The notice does not set one amount for every university.
- bachelor’s degree · master’s degree · doctoral degree
Parent funding adds parent passport, signed support agreement, parent bank records and birth/family proof. Scholarship evidence must identify the recipient and amount. The notice also requests the applicant’s own bank records; do not assume a scholarship letter replaces the whole funding package.
For stays over 91 days, use the embassy’s designated medical/TB provider and form. Karachi/Sindh residents must check the Karachi Office’s hospital list. Confirm the full D-4 list separately: this notice’s student section specifically covers D-2.
The reviewing authority may request further education, financial, family or identity evidence if the submitted information is insufficient. There is no fixed document count by citizenship here. Before submitting, open the complete current university and consular instructions.
Language, university and programme
Check TOPIK, IELTS or TOEFL against your teaching language and programme. University language requirements and consular language checks may differ. GKS is a separate scholarship competition with its own guide; it does not replace regular admission.
